Inventory feed
An automated export of a dealership live inventory to marketplaces and listing sites.
Definition
Also called vehicle feed, listing feed
A feed is how the same car appears on several marketplaces without being entered several times. The store maintains one record, and the feed carries it out to the listing sites on a schedule.
The value is in the updates as much as the initial listing. A price change, a sold unit, or a new set of photos should propagate without anyone logging into six sites.
Feeds are also where merchandising quality becomes visible. Missing photos or a thin description reach every marketplace at once, which is why description quality is an inventory job rather than a marketing one.
