Guides for independent dealers.
Short, practical writing about the parts of the job that cost money when they go wrong: the paperwork behind an in-house note, the curtailment you did not see coming, moving off a system you have outgrown, and what the numbers on your aging report are actually telling you.
What is here
Five subjects, written for the person doing the work.
These are not product pages. They are the answers we end up giving on the phone - what a curtailment schedule really is, what to export before you leave a DMS, what a good AI reply to a 2am lead looks like - written down once so they can be read without booking anything.
We do not publish numbers we cannot stand behind. Where a figure would need a study to support it, the guide describes the shape of the thing instead, and where a rule varies by state it says so rather than picking one and hoping.
- Buy Here Pay HereCarrying your own paper: disclosures, payment records, and the files you have to be able to produce.
- Floor planFinancing the inventory itself - curtailments, payoffs, and knowing what you owe before the lender tells you.
- Dealer softwareChoosing a system, moving to it, and getting your data out of the one you are on now.
- AI lead responseWhat answering leads with AI actually looks like in a used-car store, and how to judge it.
- OperationsThe day-to-day numbers - aging, turn, gross - and what to do about them.
The first guides are in review.
Nothing is published here yet. Until it is, the pages below cover the same ground in shorter form, and the glossary defines every term the guides will use.
Or skip the reading and see it working.
Everything these guides describe - the note ledger, the curtailment queue, the migration, the AI that answers at 2am - runs in one system on the same records. A specialist will walk you through it with your own numbers.
